Speak the Difficult Truth

It’s hard to speak the difficult truth.
It’s sooooo much easier to stay silent.
I’ve spent my adult life learning how to speak more candidly.
Because it’s an essential part of thought leadership.

Why do we struggle to speak difficult truths?
It differs for each of us.

๐Ÿ™We were taught to be polite.
๐Ÿ˜Š We want to be liked for what we say.
๐Ÿ• Being silent saves us time.
๐Ÿ˜ฑ Or stress
๐Ÿ˜  We don’t have to deal someone else’s emotions.

But thought leadership *requires* us to say the hard things.

It requires us to speak difficult truths again and again.

Because no matter how many times we share an idea.

There will always be people hearing it for the very first time.

So, even after thirty years as an adult, I’m still learning.

Each day I try to get more comfortable with discomfort.

I embrace the joy of being uncomfortable.

How about you?
